Mark Leonard joined the CER in January 2005 as Director of foreign policy. Mark was Director of the Foreign Policy Centre, a think-tank he founded under the patronage of the British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Mark also acts an adviser to companies and governments on China, Middle East Reform, the future of Europe and Public Diplomacy; and writes regularly for the Financial Times Magazine about global issues.
In 2004 Mark was selected for the German Marshall Fund's prestigious 'Transatlantic Fellowship' which allowed him to spend five months in Washington DC which he used to write his first book.
Mark's Book, Why Europe will run the 21st Century was published in the UK in February 2005, and will appear in eight other languages during the course of 2005.
